Louisville Medical Clinic is Hiring a Clinic LPN Near Louisville, MS

The LPN renders nursing care in support of medical care as directed by a Physician or Nurse Practitioner in an office and/or clinical setting.

· Works within Scope of Practice as set forth by the MS Board of Nursing

· The LPN will prepare patients for examinations according to the reason for the visit

· Performs initial patient triage. This includes:

o Taking/recording vital signs

o Reason for visit

o Medication reconciliation

o Updating medical history

o Gathering medical records, if needed

· Assist provider with exam and/or procedures (such as minor surgeries, injections, or other minor procedures).

· Administers medications (PO or IM) as ordered by provider and demonstrates proper medication administration knowledge

· Administers vaccines as needed and demonstrates knowledge of vaccines and VFC program

· Performs venipuncture and appropriate laboratory tests as ordered and as needed

· Performs EKG’s as necessary

· Assembles equipment and supplies in preparation for diagnostic or treatment procedures performed by provider

· Answers telephone, handles patient questions, does follow-up with provider as necessary, and relays messages

· Sends in prescription orders

· Manages patient scheduling

· Schedules referral appointments at other facilities

· Obtains prior authorizations as needed

· Assists with patient instruction and interpretation of provider orders with patients

· Discharges patients and ensures all charges have been properly recorded on the patient encounter form

· Maintains patient records/charts

· Follows up with provider to ensure accurate and complete medical records

· Maintain and file/scan medical records

· Cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment

· Maintains clean and orderly patient rooms, as well as a clean, orderly, and safe workplace and clinic facility

· Maintains stock of needed medical supplies

· Uses proper procedure for disposal of contaminated and infections items

· Receive, record, and organize medication samples, disposing of outdated samples in an appropriate and timely manner

· Knows the policies and procedures relating to fire, safety, disaster, and infection control as they apply to the clinic practice

· Attends in-services and quarterly meetings as required

· Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span

· Must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs

· Uses appropriate tact when dealing with patients, employees, hospital departments, facilitating agencies, physicians, nurse practitioners, and the public

· Maintains a strong ethical code regarding patient’s rights as evidenced in professional attitude/behavior (i.e., privacy, confidentiality, and empathy)

· Must promote professional, positive, and cooperative demeanor

· Performs under hospital/clinic policies and procedures

· Demonstrates behaviors which exemplify professional conduct and teamwork

· Performs other duties as assigned by authorized personnel

Education:

High school diploma AND completion of an accredited nursing program with subsequent licensure

Experience/Skills:

One or two years of nursing experience preferred. Candidate must be comfortable utilizing a computer

Licensure, Registration, Certification:

Current LPN licensure in the State of Mississippi and BLS certification required

IV Certification, TB certification, ACLS certification, and PALS certification desired

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
